Built on Trust, Not Transactions
Brett Weichbrod is a Santa Barbara-based wealth advisor with a background spanning institutional fixed income at PIMCO and comprehensive financial planning for individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations across the Central Coast.
About Brett Weichbrod
Brett Weichbrod brings over a decade of focused experience in wealth management, with deep roots in fixed income strategy and financial planning. He holds a B.S. in business and finance from the University of San Diego and a master's degree in business with a finance emphasis from Pepperdine University. He has also earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional designation, a credential that reflects his commitment to income planning and long-term financial security for clients.
Brett's career began in Newport Beach at Canterbury Consulting, where he worked inside small corporate retirement plans and nonprofit portfolios, learning the discipline of careful analysis early on. He then spent over six years at Pacific Investment Management Company, known as PIMCO, partnering with institutional investors to build fixed income portfolios and custom bond strategies. Since 2015, he has called Santa Barbara home, working as a wealth advisor at CHANNEL Wealth, where the independent firm structure allows for genuinely customized solutions across both family and institutional accounts.
What sets Brett apart isn't the breadth of his credentials. It's his view of what financial advice actually means. He's guided clients through business sales, retirement transitions, the loss of a spouse, and multigenerational wealth transfers. Those experiences shaped a clear belief: the most valuable thing an advisor can do is help people make sound decisions during the moments that matter most. He draws inspiration from Warren Buffett's emphasis on patience, discipline, and long-term thinking, applying that same focus on fundamentals to every client relationship he builds.
Away from client meetings, Brett is deeply involved in the Santa Barbara community. He sits on the boards of Santa Barbara Executive Roundtable and Domestic Violence Solutions, serves on the finance committee of Montessori Center School of Santa Barbara, and is a member of Santa Barbara Premier Professionals. He previously served on the board of Girsh Park in Goleta. An avid cyclist since his teenage years, Brett finds that time outdoors helps him stay grounded and return to his work with sharper focus. He believes success is measured not by portfolio returns alone, but by the confidence and clarity clients carry into the next chapter of their lives.
